Is this normal? brown period blood?

So ive been waiting to get my period. Ive had my normal pms, mood swings, feeling achy, headache and super sore boobs.So today i wake up expecting my period and all i see when i wipe is a teeyn tiny smudge of light light red so i go ok it must be coming then. So the next day i get up expecting it because my boobs are no longer sore and the soreness usually goes away as soon as my period comes but nothing! no blood at all. about and hour later i go use the bathroom i wipe and out come dark dark brown looking discharge and thats it. i wipe again and im clean. whats going on? is that normal?? im not prgenant that would be impossible.
