How do I keep roaches from returning with me from Peurto Rico?

I am in Puerto for a summer internship. The apt. I am staying in has roaches. I have killed most of them by now but am concerned about bringing eggs home in my luggage. I plan to stop at a laundromat on my way home from the airport and wash everything in hot with bleach, have a change of clothes ready. What I am concerned about most is eggs on my luggage or in my books, backpack, ipod, alarm clock etc. Any advice on a product and/or procedure to treat them? I am NOT overly familiar with roaches and do NOT want to become familiar with them in my very own (currently absolutely roach free) home.
